2008 Wasn’t All Bad

January 1st, 2009 by Matt

Happy New Year!

2008 was a doozy. We start 2009 with a hell of a lot less money in our 401Ks than we did a year ago. Our houses are worth less. Job losses are through the roof. There’s no telling when the economy will rebound, or how many more bailouts will have to occur before it does.

Yet, years from now when we recall this past year, we’ll think first of October 29th, and the glorious sight of the Phillies piling on top of Brad Lidge after he completed his perfect season in a most perfect way. We’ll think of the parade on Halloween, when Broad St ran red with Phillies pride.

Life is a series of choices. Continue to choose not to look at your shrinking 401K. Pop in the Phillies World Series DVD again.

2008 wasn’t nearly all bad.

Here’s hoping to great things to come in 2009.
